im about to buy an lg hdtv with 4 hdmi inputs, a ps3 (mainly for blu ray), and also about to order cable and get a box. Also, im getting a home theater system. How do I hook all of these up together? Do I run everything throught my receiver? and how many hdmi inputs should a reciever have to do all of this?

I have the a six foot long monitor cable and want to hook up my hard drive tower to the TV, when I hook it up my TV said Invalid format. How do I get the TV to act as a monitor?

I recently bought an Philips HTS6500 htib audio system and when i use it to play DVD the speakers works but when im watching regular cable TV or playing the PS3, the sounds doesnt come out.
is there any way for everything to intertwine with my speakers to produce sound for all sources?

i was wondering if someone could explain how to set up my hdtv with my surround sound system? also i want it to have surround sound while watching regular cable if possible?
