LCD HDTV Buy Now

On a Panasonic 50″ LCD TV ad, it says this:
“A 50” panel is 18% larger in viewable screen surface than a 46″ panel and 42% larger than a 42″ panel”

So, is that true? I didn’t calculate this but is a 8″ diagonal difference equals to almost 50% more viewing area?

If that’s the case, then buying 50″ makes lot of sense. I wonder what would 60″ be like than compared to 42 or 50″ in terms of viewing area

I plan to buy a HDTV. Is Panasonic TH-58PZ800U plasma tv a better choice than a lcd tv? I had been reading reviews but those seem to be older reviews. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

i never had this problem before but now every time i turn on my ps3 the screen is always blurry. The video output is in 480i and i am using just the standard A/V cables (yellow,red,white). The temp in my room is now in the 80s but i don’t think thats the problem. So how can i fix this and do i have a buy a HDMI cable to fix it? And also will an HDMI cable support my tv and ps3?

I recently bought a panasonic lcd tv and thought, from reading the manual online before buying it, that I could use the timer to switch it on automatically in place of my alarm. The orange LED flickers during the timer period, so I guess that I’ve set it correctly, but the screen and sound stay off :-/

What are the default settings for pic mode color tint brightness picture sharpness color temp and vm? i dont want to buy anything, its not a flatscreen, because it’s pretty big, and the tv is big, not the screen! i looked all over the internet and couldnt find the DEFAULT SETTINGS!
