Should I buy a refurbished Vizio LCD TV? Any opinions on the whole refurbished thing?

I’m going to buy a 37in. Vizio and the refurbished prices on ebay are pretty great. I own a 22in. Vizio right now so I know they’re great TV’s but I bought it new so I wasn’t sure about the refurbished ones, just wondering if I should stay away from them or not. Thanks guys!

I can tell you we bought a Sony Bravia refurb two years ago saved almost half off and never had a problem with it. We love it!
honestly it’s ok to buy furbys but so long as you get warrenty on them. I have found a lot of furbys have problems after 2 or 3 months of use. Be carefull with furbs
refurbished is just as good as stock…as long as it ocmes with a warranty. i’d advise buying a refurbished one from a store though, a lot less hassle if you have to send it back. also you can physically see why it was returned and refurbished, a lot of them are just “scratch and dent” and they have to slash the prices. but if the scratch is on the abck of the tv who cares… but if you are buyin it online, it can have a scratch on the screen or something.
I bought a laptop recently that was refurbished and I haven’t had a single problem since buying it.
That said, Vizio T.V.s are decent enough brand new, but I can’t really say how great they would be refurbished.
It’s kind of hit and miss with refurbs, sometimes you get an amazing deal and sometimes you end up on the short end.
37 inch Vizios aren’t very expensive at your local Wal-Mart store. IMO you should just go and buy one brand new off of the shelf.

I prefer not to buy the refurbished models due to the fact that they generally had to be a problem for it to be refurbished, but not in all cases. There is mixed feedback though, it may just be old and not have any problems.
Refurbished items tend to work well but not for long, I ave recently conduct a research in college (my major is Electronics n Computer Technology) on refurbished items. one facts is about 85% of them will encounter they same dilemma the once had.

i don’t think there’s no problem buying a refurb item. they are reformatted to its original condition so i guess you won’t have any problem with it.
Vizio is a great brand. i trust it, too.
