Philips Hdtv- I Have A Hdtv And Hd Cable Television. It Does Not Look Hd. What Port/cables Should Be Used?

The cable guy hooked the TV up and I noticed that he used AV ports but I see two ports called HDMI. Do I need new cables hooked to one of these ports to see a clear picture?

If the cable guy used the red/white/yellow AV port cables then no, there will be no HD signal from those. If you had an HDMI or component video connection (component video comes from the red/blue/green/ video connector plugs) then yeah, there should be an HD picture from either of these two. Also, many cable companies have special HD channels. Not every channel is in HD.
If you already knew that about your cable company, then make sure that you use an HDMI or component video connection to see in HD
    Hope this helps,
    Mike
