Go with as much Samsung as you can afford. Panasonic is a good choice too. Stay away from Vizio; all it has going for it is price.
Samsung is a really great and trusted option. I purchased a 46 inch Samsung about 4 months ago and have had absolutely no problems. The only surprises I get are new options I discover when going through the menus. I also love how you can hook up your USB cord so you can watch vids, see pics from your camera, or hook up your Ipod and jam out.
If you are smart, and I assume you are, because you ask questions before doing things. Here is what I have done and by the research I have done in the past. Get whatever TV you want or desire. Some are good some are great BUT: be sure to buy it at Best Buy. I know everyone say’s best buy ain’t best. But you have to look at the long term.Buy the cheapest version of what you want even down to open box or floor model, especialy discontinued models. Then purchase the geek pro service agreement 79.99 for over 37″ tv’s. that gives you unconditional warranty including replacement of better tv’s in the future. Also over 40″ gets you a free loaner. This service comes to your door. Trust me the investment is well worth it.you are looking at a 5 yr. in house warranty.with a lemmon clause I might add.

I would suggest Samsung LN52B630 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color
For higher budget go for Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch ($1900)
For lower budget you may choose Samsung LN52B550 52-Inch around $1000 only
