How Do I Hook Up My Philips Hts6500 To An Hdtv And Output Sounds From My Dvr And Ps3?

I recently bought an Philips HTS6500 htib audio system and when i use it to play DVD the speakers works but when im watching regular cable TV or playing the PS3, the sounds doesnt come out.
is there any way for everything to intertwine with my speakers to produce sound for all sources?
